THINKING OF JOINING ?

Stowmarket Golf Centre has been welcoming golfers of every standard since 2008.

We're an independent, family-run course on the edge of Stowmarket, and our approach is simple: golf should be sociable, relaxed, and free of the stuffiness that puts a lot of people off. Membership is the best way to make the most of that atmosphere — here's what it includes.

Golf, whenever you want it...

  • Unlimited golf on our 9-hole course, seven days a week, all year round (weather and course conditions permitting — we'll close if it's unsafe to play).

  • Priority booking on the tee sheet ahead of Pay & Play visitors.

  • Your 12-month membership starts from the day your payment is received, so there's no waiting around to get going.

  • Children aged 10 and under can be added to a parent or grandparent's membership for free — they need to be signed up as members themselves, not just brought along as a guest.

More than just a tee time...

  • Entry to our competitions, events, and social calendar throughout the year.

  • The chance to get an unofficial golf handicap through our own bespoke handicap system.

  • Weekly social roll-ups — no booking needed, any standard welcome. Ball in the bucket by 10am, tee off soon after, free range balls from 9.30am, and coffee and cake afterwards for £4 (members).

  • Regular group golf and social sessions — including our ladies' groups.

  • A genuinely friendly clubhouse — we call ourselves "collectors of friendly people" for a reason.

Getting you settled in...

Starting at a new club on your own can feel a bit daunting. Our team will introduce you to other members and help match you up with a regular group or roll-up that suits your standard and the times you want to play — so you're never just handed a membership card and left to work it out.

Somewhere to practise...

  • Use of our covered 10-bay driving range, chipping area, and putting green (range balls are pay-as-you-go, or save with a Driving Range Loyalty Card — this isn't included free with membership).

  • Access to Top Tracer-assisted coaching with our pros, Joe Cardy and Rob Pritchard.

  • Members get preferential coaching rates — these are emailed out, and available on request at the desk too.

  • Beyond the Basics — small-group coaching with Rob on specific parts of your game, delivered to groups of four people for one hour.

New or returning to golf...

You won't be thrown in at the deep end. We run a beginner-friendly coaching programme and dedicated groups — including a ladies' group — to build your confidence before you're out on the course by yourself. Ask us what's running next and we'll point you in the right direction.

Membership categories...

Children aged 10 and under join free alongside a paying parent or grandparent member (see above) — a great way to get the whole family into golf together.

Paid junior membership starts at 11.

Junior (11–15) - £80

Student (16–17) - £150

Adult (18–59) £435

Senior (60+) £405

You're covered...

  • Public liability insurance of £2,500,000 per incident covers everyone on site — members and visitors alike — against injury or damage caused through the Centre's negligence.

  • Members are named on the policy too, under a specific Members and Committee Extension, so you're personally covered as well as the business.

  • What it doesn't cover: accidents down to your own fault — vehicles are parked at owners' risk.
